- The average remuneration received by each worker per year in Guerrero is 66,222 Mexican pesos, while the national average remuneration is 99,114 Mexican Pesos.

- 53,041 indigenous workers do not earn an income (45.7% of the indigenous population over 15 years of age). 27,964 persons form part of the indigenous population that earns less than the monthly minimum wage (24.1% of the indigenous population older than 15). This is one of the main reasons for the high levels of migration to states like Sinaloa, Sonora, Baja California, Morelos, where those persons work as farm laborers. Despite the stagnant or declining remittances (“remesas“) of Mexicans living outside Mexico in recent years, it is noteworthy that Guerrero is one of the entities of the Federation that receives the most remittances per person. Guerrero receives $ 550 per capita annually in remittances, which makes it the second highest state nationally (after Michoacán). (Source: CONAPO 2008) According to the Bank of Mexico, Michoacan, Guanajuato, the State of Mexico, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Puebla, Veracruz and Mexico City received 55.7 percent of remittances in 2010.
