The Fray Bartolome de Las Casas Center for Human Rights C.A. and the International Service for Peace (SIPAZ) reports on the physical accompaniment as human rights observers that is provided to the convoy of the maritime delegation as part of the Journey for Life, Europe Chapter.
Starting today, April 26th, 2021, the convoy will begin its journey from Chiapas to the Atlantic Coast. This peaceful initiative is organized by the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN).
It is planned that on May 3rd, 2021, the maritime delegation will set sail from Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico, aboard the boat “La Montaña”.
The reason for our accompaniment as human rights observers will be to dissuade and ensure that no human rights violation is committed during the trip.
We ask you to be aware of this initiative that will reach 30 European countries as of June of this year and that will involve holding “meetings, dialogues, exchanges of ideas, experiences, analysis and evaluations among those of us who are committed, from different conceptions and in different fields, in the struggle for life.”
