January 1: Dolores Hidalgo celebrates the 30th anniversary of the EZLN uprising.
January 12: Carmen LĂłpez Lugo, a Chol indigenous man who served as an ejido surveillance adviser from 2018 to 2021 and was a member of the National Indigenous Congress (CNI), is murdered in Tila, in northern Chiapas.
January 25: The Believing People make a pilgrimage in San CristĂłbal de las Casas 13 years after the death of Bishop Samuel Ruiz GarcĂa.
January: Dozens of families leave their homes in the municipalities of Chicomuselo, La Concordia and Socoltenango, in the Sierra de Chiapas, due to the impacts of drug violence derived from the dispute between the Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) and Sinaloa (CS) cartels.
February 8: The Ajmaq Network of Resistance and Rebellion demands that the authorities immediately stop the attacks by the Regional Organization of Coffee Growers of Ocosingo (Orcao) against bases of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) of Moisés and Gandhi, the official municipality of Ocosingo.
February 13: A report by civil society organizations points to the need to recognize the existence of the armed conflict in the border area of the state.
February 15: Coffee growers in Chiapas block the so-called ‘coffee route’ in Tapachula to demand that the multinational company NestlĂ© pay them a better price for the product.
February 20: âEl Falloâ, leader of the motonetos in San CristĂłbal de Las Casas, is executed.

March 14: Diego PĂ©rez MĂ©ndez, pre-candidate of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) for mayor of San Juan Cancuc, is assassinated in San Juan ChamulhĂĄ.
March 19: Frayba turns 35.
April 2: Frayba reports 25 deaths after a confrontation in La Concordia between groups linked to organized crime and the National Guard.
April 9: Former PRI mayor of Amatenago del Valle, presumed candidate for reelection, is murdered.
April 11: Alfonso GĂłmez GĂłmez, mayor of Santiago El Pinar, a Tsotsil municipality in Los Altos de Chiapas, is kidnapped.
April 20: Tzotzil Catholics from the municipality of ChalchihuitĂĄn make a pilgrimage to the capital of this municipality to demand the closure of canteens and that the voting at the door âbe in peace, without weapons or violence; that the vote be free and secretâ.
